Coldplay - The Scientist

I took a particular interest in this video because i felt it was a good example of what was possible when considering lip syncing techniques and possible ways of taking the audience out of the narrative.

As you can see the video goes against normal music video conventions by combining narrative and performance for the entire video. In some sense this video some how battles itself in terms of taking the audience out of the narrative, whilst it is unlikely that the audience will be engaged in a narrative that is taking place entirely backwards this still requires heavy focus from the audience in order to be able to follow the narrative. However they have dealt with this issue easily by including random short clips that may or may not relate to narrative.
